Men's discernment group at the Abbey on Jan. 22nd, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm
A discernment group is a group that meets to talk about how to figure out where God is calling you. While special attention is given to discerning God's call to religious life and/or the priesthood, such groups have also helped participants discern vocations to married life or the single life.
The discernment group being held at St. Procopius Abbey will be sponsored by the monks of St. Procopius Abbey and by Fr. Burke Masters, the vocation director for the Diocese of Joliet. It will meet once a month on Wednesdays at St. Procopius Abbey from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. It will start with praying Vespers (or Evening Prayer) with the monastic community and then the group will meet for discussion, often around a pre-assigned text. The first meeting is Jan. 22nd. Young men discerning a vocation are welcome to attend.
